Evergreen - Heerenschürli
Publication on the new Heerenschürli sports facility in Zurich (CH).
A sports facility as an urban location: In the fast-growing north of Zurich, a facility was built in 2010 that sets new standards. It serves the changing needs of popular sports and includes grass fields for football, a baseball field, a cloakroom building with a public restaurant, a maintenance yard and a skate park.
Beyond the needs of sports, an urban open space with public squares and street spaces was created here, which connects the surrounding residential neighbourhoods with the adjacent landscape spaces and stages an artificial nature. The new Heerenschürli was realised according to the designs of the team Topotek 1 Landscape Architects (Berlin) and Dürig AG Architects (Zurich).
